Great Allegheny Passage – 2008

This was my first long tour, starting on the GAP Trail on the outskirts of Pittsburgh and ending on the Potomac Canal Trail in Brunswick, VA.  I rode a cheap Trek mountain bike at least one size to small for me, wore jeans the whole way, nearly froze on a 30 degree night in Confluence, PA, and learned about the secret energy mix of mangos and beer on a 30 mile sunset sprint after a day of breakdowns.  It was great.
